Road bikes are no longer for the select few in the cycling world. Years ago, 10 speed style road bikes were the norm. They were affordable and created many new cyclists. Then, something changed and the prices sky-rocketed to the point that you may have to take out a bank loan in order to purchase one.
Bike manufacturers began developing very expensive bikes that only a select few could afford and only extremely avid cyclists were willing to pay for.
Thankfully, a new line of road bikes were released in the past couple of years that have allowed the masses to enjoy the pleasure of road biking at an affordable price, with a quality road bicycle.
GMC road bikes are available in a variety of models. The Denali starts out under $200 in fact, just under $150 and features an aluminum frame, 21 speeds and Shimano components. The shifters are Shimano Revo Grip Shifters which allow for easy shifting on the top tube of the handlebars. The Denali is available in a 19”, 22.5” and 25” frame as well as a 19” women’s model. For the younger riders, GMC made the denali road bike with 24” size wheels at the same low price. No longer do you have to spend $500 for a 24” road bike that will be outgrown in a year.
The next big step up is the GMC Yukon XL road bike, which is available in a 20” 22” and 25” frame. The Yukon XL features Shimano Sora Shifters which allow you to shift from the same position as the brake levers, a feature normally found on bikes costing hundreds more. It also has an aluminum frame and Shimano components.
A brand new model is the GMC Denali Limited Road Bike. This road bike costs under $550 and features an aluminum and carbon fiber frame, as well as a carbon fiber fork. The Shifters are Shimano Sora STI shifters and the Denali Limited is also available in a 20”, 22” and 25” frame.
