I bought this bike on this website during August of 2009. Since then it has been amazing. I am 14 years old and use this to commute between my house and various other places around 5 miles away. If you are looking for a bike to commute in you neighborhood and around the city, this bike is for you.
Pros: This bike is totally worth the mear $150 you have to pay for it. If someone would ask me how much i thought it was, i would say at least $250. It looks cool, rides reasonably smooth, and operates well too.
Problems: so far i have had no problems with the gears or brakes. Assembly was easy and the bike has held together. As the bottom review says, the rim tape on my bike did not work right and i popped a tire. However, this can be fixed very easy by simply having your local bike store fix it for about $10.
Overall this is a great bike for your average commuter. Buy it!

I bought the GMC Denali at Walmart 3 years ago. It has been a great bike. For the first few months i had it I put over 1,000 miles on it. It has held together very well for the $150 price tag. Unfortunately I have not been able to ride it much because I moved away from home. I think its a pretty fast bike, it is very stable at high speeds and the brakes get the job done coming to a stop. I would recommend this bike to anyone.

A friend of mine bought this bike and used it to train for over a year. He has put a lot of miles on it, including a 100 mile ride for the Livestrong Challenge.
After he bought his new bike he passed it on to me. I started my riding with this bike, and took it for a 70 mile ride. This bike has see plenty of miles, and I haven't had a problem, other than the usual popped tubes during a ride every now and then.
The only drawback is that it is not as light as they make it out to be. It is definitely a heavier bike. But for the $150 It is definitely worth it!!

I recently bought this bicycle and have been riding it now for about 2 weeks. If you are looking for a state of the art, most impressive road bike...this is not it. That being said, this bike is a huge bang for its buck. For only $150 this bicycle is a steal.
Assembly: The bike comes partially assembled and finishing the assembly is very easy. Just have a set of allen wrenches and hex wrenches.
Weight: Made of full aluminum the bicycle is a little over 30 lbs which is fine for carrying up and down steps if need be. Not as light as other high end bikes which does play a role in speeds as being heavier makes the bike slower.
Shimano shifters and derailleurs: After tweaking the brakes and rear derailleur the bike brakes and shifts well. Being that the shifters and derailleurs are Shimano they are high quality. The downfall with the shifting is the shifter is on the top handlebar and is a twisting/gripping type of shifting. This requires you to switch back and forth between riding low where the brakes are to reaching up to shift.
Speeds: The bike has good speeds but is not really a match for the alu/carbon or all carbon bikes. However, if you are looking for casual rides for enjoyment or a road bike for commuting this bike is perfect. Looks: The bike looks like a grand road bike and if people don't know better they will think you paid more than you really did for it.
Maintainence: I recommend once you get the bike to replace the rim tape along the inner tubing and the rim. As the way it came, the tape slips easily and can result in the inner tubbing being caught between the metal and the tape and having a hole torn in it. This is exactly what happened to me forcing me to buy a new inner tubing and retaping the inner rims. Also the inner tubing uses Shrader valve. The kind that came with the bike has a very long stem because the rims are wider than usual. I was unable to find inner tubings with the long stem and switched the the Presta valve which I prefered anyways because I find it easier and there is no cap to lose. The gears for this bike are really no name gears. So taking this bike on steep hills may cause early wear and tear. Being in S.F there are many hills here and I already noticed that my chains have slipped twice. Other than that, maintain this bike like any other bike. The better you treat it, the better it will treat you.
Final word: This bicycle is a perfect introduction bicycle for the casual to moderate riders who wants to get into the sport or just to commute. Obviously being so relatively inexpensive (regular road bikes start at around $400) there are some points about this bike that will not match up. But, really this bike is a huge bang for its buck. My roommate has a $1500 Lemond and I have ridden this $150 bike everywhere he has and have fairly stayed with him throughout. The one down point being the slower speed. But as you can see, this bike is more than worth every single dollar. I highly recommend this bicycle for everyone.
