Michael, I received the NiteRider MiNewt x2 Dual lights. The past three nights I have bicycled to neighboring towns over back roads. I have to concede to you. They are very bright. However, I will add this: I consider these lights a bare minimum for my purpose which is riding at night in the country where there are no street lamps. I covered one of the lights while riding and it was inadequate. Both beams are definitely required. Low beams are acceptable most of the time. And the difference between low beam and high beam is minor. However, not when it comes to run time: 1.75 hours versus 3.5 hours. I am very happy with the lights in general and the build quality is good. Riding during winter will be interesting to see how the battery holds up in the cold. With regard to aiming the lights, I like to have mine aimed side-by-side. Like this: o o. Not O (one bright spot). And not 8 (one spot on top of the other). I would definitely recommend these lights for night riding on paved road. I can't comment on trail riding at night. Another nice feature of these lights is that there is no "shine back" into the eyes and the blue power indicators on the lights are not too bright to interfere with vision. One suggestion for Nite Rider, however. I would put the power button on the side of the battery where the power light is more clearly visible. Thanks for the recommendation, Michael.
