Niterider MiNewt.X2 Dual Bike Headlight with Free Shipping

The MiNewt.X2 Dual headlamps combine for a blinding 300 lumens of light output.

The dual headlamps with independent mounting permit “stacking” light beams for flexibility, better night riding performance and adds a layer of safety and redundancy.

The Dual X2 benefits from all the performance enhancements made to the single X2. Lumen output doubles when compared to the 1st generation MiNewt Dual and regulated run times increase to 1:45 on high and 3:30 on low.

Optics are very important to the performance of any lighting system, that’s why a Borofloat lens and custom reflector are used in the MiNewt.X2 Dual and other NiteRider LED lighting systems. This combination delivers superior performance levels when compared to traditional glass lens or T.I.R.’s.

A Gimble Style mount is used for handlebar mounting. A new titanium finish with an additional clear coat for added protection, faster charge time and tabbed mounting rings for easier handlebar mounting, round out the MiNewt.X2 Dual's 2008 features.

All of these features are packed into a feather light package able to fit in the palm of your hand weighing an amazing 317g. The MiNewt.X2 Dual will redefine the way you view lighting technology.

Charge Time 4:30 Hrs, Burn Time: 1:45 - 3:30 Hrs

Features:

  • 3 Light Settings
  • 1:45 Hours on High
  • 3:30 Hours on Low
  • High, Low and Flashing Mode
  • Low Battery Indicator
  • Borofloat Lens
System Includes:
  • Dual LED Headlamps
  • Li-Ion Battery
  • Handlebar Mount - Fits up to 31.8mm
  • 4.5 HR Smart Charger

A NiteRider exclusive, on all Niterider LED lighting systems, are "Gimble" style mounts. Gimble mounts imply that the center of rotation is located at the geometrical center and are most frequently used in aerospace and nautical applications. Gimble mounts are superior, offering unlimited adjustments. They are more mechanically complex, difficult to design and engineer and thus more costly, than the simpler kinematic mounts used with most bike lights.

MiNewt x2 Duel lights and how they work 10/21/2007 - by ALEXANDER S. from Woodbury CT.
Michael,

I received the NiteRider MiNewt x2 Dual lights. The past three nights I have bicycled to neighboring towns over back roads. I have to concede to you. They are very bright. However, I will add this: I consider these lights a bare minimum for my purpose which is riding at night in the country where there are no street lamps.

I covered one of the lights while riding and it was inadequate. Both beams are definitely required. Low beams are acceptable most of the time. And the difference between low beam and high beam is minor. However, not when it comes to run time: 1.75 hours versus 3.5 hours.

I am very happy with the lights in general and the build quality is good. Riding during winter will be interesting to see how the battery holds up in the cold. With regard to aiming the lights, I like to have mine aimed side-by-side. Like this: o o. Not O (one bright spot). And not 8 (one spot on top of the other).

I would definitely recommend these lights for night riding on paved road. I can't comment on trail riding at night. Another nice feature of these lights is that there is no "shine back" into the eyes and the blue power indicators on the lights are not too bright to interfere with vision. One suggestion for Nite Rider, however. I would put the power button on the side of the battery where the power light is more clearly visible.

Thanks for the recommendation, Michael. I think the only place to go from here would be a hub generator (Peter White Cycles.)

Thanks again,
Alex
