The Genius folding bike is an incredible addition to the folding bike world. It literally folds and unfolds in less than 3 seconds and was the winner of 2005 Innovator Certificate of Design award. The Genius is the result of over 1 million dollars in research and design costs.
Everything was considered with the design of the Genius bike. For example, in order to store the bike in compact areas, such as in a small airplane, boat, car trunk, dorm room, closet, or on the subway and at work, smaller tires were needed. In fact, the tires are only 12" in diameter, but don't get worried. The designers came up with a special dual-chain system that results in covering two tire rotations with one pedal turn. This means that although the tires are only 12" in diameter, you cover as much ground as with 24" tires when you pedal. It also has an internal hub with three speeds which is fully enclosed within the aluminum hub shell and no maintenance is required. This ensures safe and clean gearing, and prevents the chain from jumping the teeth when you change gears.
The folding of the bike is achieved in less than three seconds and is done with one smooth simple movement, with no risk of pinching or getting dirty hands, there is also no need for tools. Once it is folded, it is very easy to transport. Whether you need to take it on a bus, subway, or into the office, it is a breeze. Simply fold it into the pedestrian position and roll it by your side without any effort. It will easily roll and zigzag anywhere you need it to go. When you approach stairs, simply grab the carrying handle and carry it under your arm.
Everything on the Genius Folding Bike is Hi-Tech. All of the materials used to make the frame are light and durable, all components have been rigorously chosen for their long lasting reliability and simple use. The frame and tube sections that make up the direction cases are alloy aluminum 6061, and where more pressure is beard upon, Aluminum AS6G7 is used. The rims are also quality aluminum.
For stopping power, the Genius has a front disc brake and a rear roller brake.
The Genius is for riders 8 years old an up and is Adjustable for riders Height from 43" tall up to 76" tall. The maximum rider weight is 240 pounds, and when folded measures a compact 25" x 12" x 32" and weighs only 29.7 pounds.
The Genius comes with a standard zippered carry cover, and we also offer a quilted carry bag that has a double zip fastener, a shoulder strap, carry handle and outside pocket.
